По просьбе врача-консультанта капитан прислал по каналам электронной почты фотографии больного места, описал особенности течения заболевания и безуспешные попытки пробного лечения, представил опись судовой аптеки.

Dear colleagues,
1. Dmitri K… is ill with Erysipelas (ICD-10 code: A46).
2. He needs bed rest for at least 5-7 days; when in bed put his bad foot above the head (on a pillow). He may get up to serve himself (toilet etc). Check up his temperature, pulse and arterial blood pressure every day; make photos of his bad foot.
3. Diet: exclude sugar, and sweets, exclude soda drinks. The patient needs a lot of fluids (2 litres and more every day).
4. Medicines: Ciprofloxacin tablets 250 mg x 3 times a day for 7 days (if Cipro is not available, write back we will find out what to do). Ibuprofen 400 mg tablets twice a day, and NO hydrocortisone 1 % ointment.
